Tiznit is a walled market town south of Agadir built around a spring-fed oasis, historically famous as a centre of Berber silversmithing. Its near-complete circuit of ochre ramparts encloses a lively souk still dominated by silver jewellery workshops, alongside a well-known 19th-century mosque with an unusual minaret studded with wooden perches.
