Taourirt Kasbah is a grand 19th-century earthen fortress in Ouarzazate that once belonged to the powerful Glaoui family, who controlled much of southern Morocco under the French protectorate. Its maze of towers, courtyards, and decorated rooms - partly restored, partly left as evocative ruins - is one of the largest kasbahs in the country and sits right within the town, close to the film studios of Ouarzazate.
