Skala de la Kasbah is the northern stretch of Essaouira's 18th-century sea ramparts, built by European engineers in a distinctive fortified style that has made it a recognisable filming backdrop, including scenes in Game of Thrones. Historic cannons still line the wide stone walkway, with waves crashing against the rocks directly below.
