Saadian Tombs

The Saadian Tombs are a beautifully preserved royal necropolis dating to the late 16th century, hidden and sealed for nearly 300 years until rediscovered in 1917. Elaborately decorated with carved cedar, gold leaf, and Italian Carrara marble, the mausoleum chambers hold the remains of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur and his family, among the finest examples of Saadian architecture in Marrakech.
