Qara Prison
Qara Prison is a vast, eerie underground vault beneath the Kasbah of Moulay Ismail in Meknes, long believed (though disputed by historians) to have held thousands of Christian slaves and prisoners during the sultan's reign. Its dark, cavernous chambers remain one of the more haunting sights of imperial Meknes.
