Koutoubia Mosque
The Koutoubia Mosque is Marrakech's most iconic landmark, its 77-metre minaret visible from almost anywhere in the city and long used as a model for later minarets in Rabat and Seville. Built by the Almohads in the 12th century, its intricately carved sandstone facade and surrounding gardens make it the natural point of reference for orienting yourself in Marrakech.
