Kechla Fortress

Kechla Fortress is a fortified citadel in Safi built by the Saadians in the 16th-17th centuries, its thick walls and towers now home to a museum and gallery space dedicated to the city's ceramics tradition. The complex also served as a royal residence and later a prison, giving it one of the more layered histories among Safi's historic buildings.
