Dragon Island (Herne Island)
Dragon Island (Herne Island) is a small, uninhabited rocky islet off the Dakhla peninsula, named for the jagged, dragon-like silhouette of its cliffs when viewed from the water. Reachable by boat trip from the mainland, it's a popular stop for birdwatching and photography amid the dramatic desert coastline near Dakhla.
