Dades Gorges cut a dramatic path through red and ochre rock cliffs east of Ouarzazate, the road climbing through a famous series of tight switchbacks known locally as the Monkey Fingers for the strange rock formations along the way. Berber villages, palm oases, and kasbahs line the valley floor, making the drive one of the most scenic routes in the High Atlas region.
